The home office has become important now more than ever before! Whether you are working from home, meeting on Zoom, or working on your next art project your home office should be functional for your work, but also a beautiful space to inspire you. I have put together a few tips to help you feel like a boss at home and help you put together an work space that is corner office worthy!

1. Create a designated work station

To be more productive and focussed on your work, I would suggest getting off the couch and working at a desk. This not only is better for your posture, but it gives a little separation to your life by using only your workspace for work and the couch for relaxing.

2. Have a comfortable chair

There is nothing worse than sitting for long hours in an uncomfortable chair. It's not only bad for your health, but it doesn't make for a pleasant workspace. I would look for chairs that give some sort of back support and are height adjustable. This way you can customize it to your needs and not have to worry about sitting in a painful position all day. I would recommend this one below as it's stylish, functional, and affordable.

3. Surround yourself with things that inspire you

This is probably my favourite part about creating a workspace that you love. Surround yourself with photos of family and loved ones, a beautifully scented candle, a pretty lamp, and whatever else will inspire and motivate you throughout the day. I believe that your workstation should not only be functional, but beautiful too!

4. add a live potted plant

I think that you should have at least one live plant on your desk, whether it's a succulent or a snake plant. This article has some good options for plants that will thrive on your desk. Plants are great as they cleanse the air, reduce stress, increase productivity, and reduce sickness, just to name a few! They also look beautiful and there are quite a few options that are easy to take care of.

5. get some good lighting

Whether you have your desk close to a window or maybe it's in the basement of your home, I think that task lighting is super important. Adding a table or floor lamp over your work station will help to prevent eye strain. I think task lighting is way more stylish than it used to be, so there are so many good options!

6. Invest in organizational pieces

I probably can't stress this enough, but it's always worth the extra time and money to organize your space. Being organized will make life a thousand times easier and I can guarantee you will stress less about finding that important document. Magazine racks, a pen holder, and drawer organizers are just a few things to make sure everything is in its place.
I hope my tips and tricks have inspired you or helped you to make your WFH office space a little more inspiring! If you would like to work together on your next project, please fill out the contact form here so I can get in touch with you.
