Image source: Pizzazzerie Though it may not feel like fall yet, it is definitely approaching! As we slowly shift gears into autumn it's time to slowly change up your decor around the house. I'm not saying to change all of your decor, but there are a few things to add or take away to create a more cozy vibe as the weather gets cooler. Keep reading for all of my tips and tricks! 1. ADd throw blankets & pillowsImage source: The Everygirl This is a such an easy way to dress up your couch for the season. I love all of the affordable options from Ikea and Bouclair Home. It creates a layer of warmth within your space as the temperature starts to drop and adds to the cozy atmosphere. I think a great throw blanket that is must-have for any living room. Throw pillows are so easy to switch out each season, but I would recommend having a few that stay the same to match the sofa and switching a couple out. This is such an easy way to prepare your house for fall and doesn't take that much time or money to do. You can shop my picks below for a cozy autumn couch. My picks2. Switch up coffee table decorImage source: @inspiredbythis This is another great, easy way to spice things up for fall. A great way to start is by getting a tray that works all year round and switching out the different components on the tray. I love the cute, mini pumpkins on this tray and it adds that perfect touch. A candle is a great way to set the mood and create a cozy atmosphere. This one below is perfect since it has a woodsy scent that is perfect for autumn. A great vase is another item that is seasonless and the only thing you need to do is switch out the arrangement. Adding other decorative items adds a personal touch and if you have a few great pieces you only need to add or take away for each season. My Picks3. change or add a seasonal wreathImage source: Addicted to Decorating A wreath is probably the first thing we see when we enter a home and it is the perfect way to accessorize your exterior. I love the idea of switching out a seasonal wreath, and once you have wreaths for each season it's only a matter of changing them out. Pier 1 has some great deals on wreathes right now and they are so affordable! I have picked out my top three favourites from the sale below. They come in many different styles, colours, and shapes that there is sure to be something for you. I like wreaths because they add a personalized touch and set the tone for the season. My picks4. Switch up front entry decorImage source: Pinterest There is something so welcoming about a decorated front entry. Fall is the perfect season to do this as pumpkins make a great accent. You can't go wrong with this one since the more pumpkins the better! The photo above is a great example and you can get fake or real pumpkins and still have the same effect. Another great decor item is lanterns because they illuminate your front entry and create an ambience. The one below is perfect since it has a minimal design and comes in several sizes. I love the look of planters on front steps and the barrel style is a classic that transitions nicely into fall. An inviting front entry looks so put-together and festive for the season. My picks5. Create a festive table scapeImage source: Pizzazzerie I love the look of a tablescape no matter the season. It really elevates the space and you don't need much to create a beautiful table. It's really simple, all you need is a nice tablecloth, some candles, some greenery, and a centrepiece. You don't have to add all of these components, but that's what's so great about decorating is you can customize for the perfect look. I have chosen some items below to create the perfect fall tablescape and they are all under $25! I love adding a little bit of greenery even for autumn because it's good to break up all of the warm tones. My picks6. Have fun with it!I'm not saying you need to follow all of these tips, but just one will make a difference. It's so easy to get caught up in creating the perfect space, but most importantly have fun! Have fun with your style and the home that you're creating. Once you've figured out the right decor for each season it's only a matter of switching it out each year.
