I am a huge fan of Karlie Kloss and when I found that she recently did an office tour for Homepolish I knew it would make a great blog post! Although this is an office space I think a lot of the pieces can translate into the home. This office is not your typical office and is a great example of how you can acheive a comfortable space while still keeping it professional. I hope you enjoy this office as much as I do!

The workspace

The most important part of any office is the workspace. I love how open and airy this workspace is and how it blends in perfectly with the space. Such a huge difference from the typical cubicle that's so common in offices. I love this large desk and how natural the wood is. This is such a beautiful piece and its a modern take on a traditional desk. I found an almost exact piece for under $200! It's such a simple design that will be in style for a long time to come. I love these desk chairs and was so happy to find an exact copy of them too! This is another classic piece that has been in style for a long time. It's a take on a mid-century design, but it still looks modern today. This chair is so affordable and comes in several different colours. The last piece you need to acheive this workspace is a geometric pendant. This is the one trendy item in this whole look, but it ties it all together. This gold pendant is from Lowes and it's so affordable that you could easily hang these in a cluster to make your own light fixture. This office space is really simple and clean, but functional with no clutter or distractions. I think the perfect office space should enhance your workflow and let you focus on what's important. That's why I love this simple and polished take on it.

The boardroom

The boardroom in Karlie's office is modelled after a dining room as she needed a space to entertain guests. Boardrooms can tend to be stuffy and uninviting, but this boardroom is sophisitcated and inviting. I love how this space is a blend between business and entertaining. This look can easily translate to the dining room in your home. The most important part of this space is the table and chairs. I love the natural element of this table that goes with the rest of the office. I love this natural pine table from Ikea becasue it is at a great price point and is a really simple design, just like the one in the photo. Adding that element of mid-century modern is these armchairs. I love how the charcoal shade grounds the space and the mid-century modern shape. The chairs I found are similar in shape, but have gold legs to tie in with the other gold elements. I love the rounded edges of this chair and how it contrasts to the square table. An area rug is not usually typical found in an office environment, but this is another element that makes it feel a little bit more like home. I love that this rug keeps the space bright, but also adds pattern and texture. The finishing touches to this space is the abstract art and modern chandelier. Art has the power to elevate a space and make it more interesting. I love this abstract piece because it adds some colour, but also looks expensive. Great lighting is also key! This modern gold chandelier is creates interest, but is also functional. I love how this space is a great mix of contemporary and traditional to create a unique space.

the kitchen

I love that this kitchen is not your typical office breakroom. I love that Karlie wanted this to be a gathering place and to feel more like a second home. The cabinetry is very clean and simple, but what dresses it up is the fun tile on the island, gold hardware, and pretty pendant lights. I think this kitchen could easily be recreated from the cabinetry that Ikea or your local hardware store sells and no one would be the wiser that you got it on a great deal! These barstools are so simple, but add that warm wood tone that this kitchen is missing. I love that it is an extremely simple design that does not hide the gorgeous tile. The bar stools I found are almost the same except for the rectangular seat. These look so much more expensive than they are. My next item is these stunning globe pendants! These are another great item on a budget that actually looks more expensive. I love the touch of gold and the milk glass gives the lighting a softer glow than clear glass. My last two items are a tea towel and cutting board. I think all kitchens should have these two stylish items and these are the perfect items to splurge on if you are displaying them. I love this cute tea towel from Anthropologie and it matches perfectly with the blue tiles on the island. This cutting board does double the duty because it flips over to a marble cheese board. I love how this kitchen is almost like a home away from home in an office space! It is a perfect blend of functionality, beauty, and comfort.

The telephone booth

As offices are evolving into open and collaborative workspaces, privacy can be a luxury only reserved for the corner office. A telephone booth (as I like to call it) is the perfect spot to make a call, have a private meeting, or make a quick change halfway through the day (as Karlie Kloss’ use for this space). A small space can sometimes feel thrown together or lack style, but this telephone booth is both pretty and highly functional for whoever is using it. My favourite piece about this space is the fun light fixture! I love using a special light fixture in a smaller space to draw the eye up and create a mood. This light fixture I selected is so close to the one in the photo and it’s a really great price too! This past year Ikea has come out with a lot of furniture using natural materials! I have been loving this trend recently and love how soft it can look within a space. This chair and pouffe are both from Ikea and I love the warmth that they both add to this small space. The last item is a tasselled pillow from H&M Home. They recently launched a home décor collection and there are so many great items to shop! I love this little telephone booth and it can easily be translated into your home as a reading nook or quiet corner to take phone calls. Such a fun and unique idea to do on a budget too!

Karlie's office

The last room is Karlie’s office! I love that this space feels less like an office and more like a living room. The calm, relaxing colour palette is suitable for an office space, but the hints of blue and pink add some character. The crème couch and armchair really ground the space. Both the couch and chair are from Ikea (I love Ikea if you couldn’t tell!) and as always, they are such an affordable price! This black marble coffee table adds contrast to the room and a touch of glam. I think I found an almost exact copy of the art in the image. I love that this piece ties the whole space together while also not having too much pink in it that it’s unprofessional. I love the natural element that adds warmth to this space and this seagrass stool is actually from Walmart! Crazy to think that Walmart has trendy furniture. I suggest taking a look and you will definitely be surprised at what they have to offer. The last piece is this really pretty rug! It’s so affordable and looks so much more expensive than it actually is! This space is definitely a dream office and how it is cozy, but also professional and suited to a corporate environment.
