Last summer I had the opportunity to add the finishing touches to the Chinook Arch Regional Library Systems newly renovated office space. While this office was brand new, it needed the finshing touches to make this space feel more warm and welcoming. I was able to style the front reception area as well as add artwork to a long hallway. Since I was working with a brand new and completely re-designed space, it made my job quite simple! This organization operates and funds programs for the Lethbridge and surrounding community libraries. I wanted to incorporate what this organization does with the decor I selected. The shelving unit at the front desk was a perfect place to stack books and create that library feel. Most newly renovated spaces lack warmth and the "lived-in" feeling and character. Adding wood tones with the decor and plants throughout the lobby helped to bring this space to life and add some warmth. Since the lobby has lots of beautiful, natural light, it was the perfect place for some plants to thrive. This long dark hallway at the back of the building was in major need of some artwork. Large scale prints of vintage book covers was the perfect solution to staying on brand and making this hallway a little more interesting. The hardest part was probably choosing which iconic book covers to include on the wall, since I had so many options.
