While I don't have many projects going due to the current situation I'm left with quite a bit of free time at home. I'm sharing some of the things I'm doing during this time to keep myself busy and stay inspired. I hope that my little list of things to do will help with the boredom you're probably feeling at home too. Whenever I'm bored I love getting inspired and falling down the rabbit hole that is Pinterest and Instagram. I feel like this one is super obvious, but it's a great way to pass the time. I'll usually pin or save images of interiors, home decor, and details that inspire me in some way. I am always looking for interesting and unique design ideas that I can always implement later with future projects and clients. I like to think that I'm doing a little research too! You can follow me on Pinterest here, if you're looking for inspiration or beautiful interiors. Youtube or HGTVHGTV never fails me! I love watching my favourite shows like: Fixer Upper, Restored by the Fords, Windy City Rehab, and Rehab Addict, to name a few. It's fun to watch the design process and see how other designers tackle projects and most importantly, see the amazing afters. I have also found some Youtube channels that have equally amazing content. Here's my list of top channels to follow:
Colouring pages (of interiors of course!)If you're in an artsy or creative mood I would highly suggest going over to Studio McGee's blog post and printing off these colouring sheets. I love that they are of interiors and there's something so relaxing and soothing about colouring. It's also a bonus that you can play around with colour and creating different textures. Making an irl inspo boardAnother thing I did was create an inspiration board for myself. It is seriously so easy and all you need is some magazines, a cork board, and some time. I love going through old magazines, furniture catalogs, pinterest to find images that inspire me. I also love that you can easily add or switch out images each month. Online shopping & sourcingWith so many online sales and future projects coming up, I can spend a good portion of my time sourcing products and finishes. One place that I have enjoyed shopping on recently is Etsy! I just did an entire blog post on some treasures I found that are all home decor related. Thanks for reading my blog post! The biggest thing to remember is we are not alone in this and we will all get through this difficult time together.
